At 1:04 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2017 Chattanooga Police responded to a traffic crash at 7815 Shallowford Rd. The following was determined through interview, investigation and observation:

  • Vehicle #1 (Jeep Liberty) and Vehicle #2 (Mazda MA5) were traveling east in the 7800 block of Shallowford Rd. when Vehicle #1 struck the rear of Vehicle #2
  • Vehicle #1 continued eastbound, traveling across all lanes of travel into the oncoming traffic side of the road before leaving the roadway and striking a stone sign
  • Vehicle #1 rolled over onto the passenger side
  • Passenger in Vehicle #1 was partially ejected with vehicle coming to rest of top of him
  • Bystanders lifted the vehicle off the victim
  • Passenger in Vehicle #1 was transported to a local hospital by Hamilton County EMS with life threatening injuries
  • No other injuries were reported
  • Chattanooga Fire Department also responded to the scene
  • Officers with the Traffic Division are actively investigating the crash

Vehicle #1 Passenger - Yoceph Stephens (male, 23)

Vehicle #2 Driver - Anna Dolan (female,19)

Vehicle #2 Passengers - Sheridan Mosley (female, 18) & juvenile name withheld

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.

Chief​David Roddy announced additions and changes to the Chattanooga Police Department's Executive Staff on Thursday, October 5, 2017.

All five chiefs ​of the CPD Executive Staff a​re long-time Chattanooga Police Department veterans with two decades or more experience each.

​Chief Roddy named Assistant Chief Eric Tucker as CPD Deputy Chief. Assistant Chief Edwin McPherson will remain as Assistant Chief of Investigation and Assistant Chief Danna Vaughn will serve as the Assistant Chief of Department and Community Support Services. Captain Jason Irvin will serve as the Assistant Chief of the Special Operations Bureau and Captain Glenn Scruggs will serve as the Assistant Chief of Neighborhood Policing.
