Chattanooga Police are called to the 2500 block of Market Street for a person shot call. 

Police received the call for assistance at 12:08 p.m. on April 15, 2017. These are the preliminary facts of the investigation:

  • The Chattanooga Police Department responded to a person shot at 2500 S Market St.
  • Upon arrival, police located the victim who was suffering from a gun shot wound
  • The victim was transported to a local hospital by HCEMS with non-life-threatening injuries
  • A crime scene was established at 2440 Williams St (Motel 6), where the shooting took place
  • There is no suspect information at this time
  • Members of the Violent Crime Bureau are actively investigating this incident and following all actionable leads

Shane Keller (male, 28)

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.

UPDATE (4/11/13) A 13-year-old boy suffering from a single gunshot wound from an accidental shooting on Sunday, April 9, 2017 has succumbed to his injuries. He passed away Monday evening, April 10, 2017.

 

Around 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2017, Chattanooga Police responded to a call for a person shot. The following are the preliminary facts of that incident:

  • Chattanooga Patrol Officers arrived on scene to find a 13-year-old boy suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head
  • Hamilton County EMS transported the boy to a local hospital
  • Another juvenile in the home at the time of the incident called 911 for help
  • At this time the victim is listed in critical, but stable condition
  • Investigators found no evidence to indicate this was anything other than an accident
  • Members of the Violent Crime Bureau are actively investigating this incident.

Juvenile (male, 16)
