9-26-17 Aggravated Assault - 1617 Wilcox Blvd.

  • The victim had exited her vehicle and was walking toward the CARTA building when the suspect approached her
  • The suspect then threw liquid from a cup on to the victim's face and fled the scene
  • Bystanders assisted the victim until HCEMS could arrive to treat the victim
  • Four other people in the vicinity were also treated for exposure to the liquid
  • CFD Hazmat tested the substance on scene and determined it was non-life-threatening
  • Some of the substance was sent out for additional testing to determine its exact composition
  • The suspect was described as a black female, light complexion, approximate 5’3 to 5’5 in height, wearing rubber gloves, hair net or scarf, blue short sleeve t- shirt, and khaki pants
  • Members of the Violent Crimes Bureau are actively investigating this incident. If you have any information on this incident, please call the Chattanooga Police Department.

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
